Land Rover to Build Sherpas

Renault Trucks Defense announced that Land Rover will build selected Sherpa tactical vehicles to compete jointly for an outstanding MOD order.

Personally, I'd bet it'll be a truck based on either the Sherpa 2 or Sherpa 3. I've not had any feedback personally on what these trucks are like in the field, though I do notice that a selling point for the Sherpa 2 is it's ability to scare camels...

Before anyone starts rabbiting on about the French, remember they're Swedish!

that's one monster truck with a curb wt of 12k lbs and a 5000 lbs cargo capacity (17k gvw). Looks to have some similar specs to a humvee (not the gvw or quality armor!), though a humvee was never really intended to serve as an armored front line vehicle so I'd much rather go to war in one of these!

I personally don't think it's any better looking than a humvee, they are both ugly/cool/utilitarian/functional. The solid axles will hold up much better though have less ground clearance. Looks like a really great truck.
