Ok with the 25 year rule in effect here in the USA I really think we will see more of the 75/76/77 series cruisers coming in, kind of like the way Defenders are starting to appear.

So I as the owner of a 75 series Troopie I would like to get a thread going here on Expo to help US based folks track down parts & accessories.

Of course some of our killer vendors around here like Equipt have their South African contacts like Front Runner, then there is Hannibal USA and others with cool kit, others import from Australia and our brothers up North in Canada get some parts over the counter!

I will start posting the parts I have tracked down & cross referenced.....let's hear from anyone else.

Lance and others, you may also want to mention 7* series parts that are the same as on a 60 series.
Things like brake components, electrical, bearings, suspension and body parts will be already available in north america.
This will be especially true of the older 7* series that were in production at the same time as the 60 series.
Rear springs from a 70/73/74 series are the same as 60 series rears.
In many countries, the electrical diagram and components for a FJ60,HJ60,BJ60 are the same as a FJ7*,HJ75,BJ7*(allowing for smogged and 24 volt models)

Hey Rosco,
what I am running into on the 60 vs 75/76/77 comparability is that it seems some parts are the same and others aren't...very strange.

Here is my method for figuring out what is what:

google Toyota EPC download and load that on your computer, try to enter your vin, this may or may not work...for me it didn't so I went with a generic search on my year/spec cruiser

bookmark www.toyodiy.com enter your vin and bookmark that page as it will be the numbers for your rig

get to know all the forums you can like this one, mud, lcool, and more...including those in South Africa & Australia especially so others can help you reference part numbers
get to know your local Toyota dealer if they give a club break like mine does otherwise get to know the major players & those in Canada, you will need them.

Start searching the EPC & toyodiy then make phone calls, emails, and such looking for things.

Since I have a 1994 75 series Troopie I am finding it fun to figure out what is aval from the 60 series, the 80 series, the mini-truck and other toyota models

Ok, let me throw a few part numbers in here, for a 98 1HZJ75. Please verify all of these yourself as these are from my raw notes - I did not actually keep track of which ones fit - use them as a starting point, not as gospel.

As you can tell from the list, I did a partial front end rebuild - I found all parts locally except the steering knuckle which came from Canada. Since they have troopies in the mines in Canada, you can find pretty much anything from the dealers near the mines, and the shipping is not bad.
