Leather pouches for cast iron cookware?

Folks,

Instead of designing an elaborate shelving system for my kitchen gear, I would rather dump it all (tidely mind you) into a storage box. Obviously having Lodge skillets and dutch ovens bashing about is not ideal so I'm looking for ultra basic leather pouches or statchels to put them in.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ash

I have a zippered nylon bag that holds my 10" Lodge dutch oven. Pretty sure the bag is sold by Lodge. Not sure, but they may sell other similar products for their other cookware. May be worth a look anyway.

You can find various sized fabric cases to hold cast ironware from Cabelas , Gander Mountain, and other sporting goods stores. I would stay away from leather unless specificaly made for cast iron contact because many of the chemicals used in the tanning process will rust iron based items. I learned the hard way. I made a knife sheath for a Damascus steel knife from some scrap leather I had. When I took the knife out several weeks later it was heavily rusted. Leather for knife sheaths apparently are processed differently.

My cleaners provide me with very heavy duty draw string bags made of some type of shiny indestructible material, that's what I use!:victory: the price was right!

There are many examples of the Dutch Oven Totes or Bags on the market. Mine are made by a It-Fitz in Franklin Idaho, affordable and do the job. There are many different styles on the market also. Some will come with Grommets in the canvas for the legs, others are padded and lined. There are also a few that make storage crates for them out of OSB wood.
