Lens Adaptors

I have a nice old lens that I used to use with a Nikon FM, and I would like to be able to use with my Canon Rebel XT DSLR. It's a Vivitar 70-210 Series 1, Version 2 (I think). Macro zoom, constant F3.5, good optics, it's a nice lens. I believe it has a Nikon F mount, not sure if it's AI or not...

Does anybody know if I can get an adaptor ring to make this work? Any idea on the results? I know I'd have to shoot full manual, I'm fine with that as I learned it on the FM. As long as it works, and most importantly I can get the metering to work, I'd be happy.

I need to get a zoom lens, but want something fast. I really like the Sigma APO F2.8 70-200 EX DG lens, but can't afford it right now. So in the meantime, can I make this work?
