Letting go of my Gen3 Montero for cheap in SoCal

Hey Guys,

Letting go of my Gen 3...it needs a Y pipe for the catalytic converter (P0431 code) in order for me to pass smog in California.
Would rather let it go out of state for anyone who wants a cheap stock 2002 Gen3 XLS (has the higher gearing). Gotta get a better daily for myself.

Besides rough paint and body..the truck runs just fine and has been my daily for 2 years. 31" Pathfinder tires with decent tread left. Timing belt service by previous owner 2 years back. Currently around 177,500 miles.

The XLS came with the higher gears because it's still the 5 speed rather than 6 in the limited.
Also has manual gear box which is great since the solenoid tends to go out or get stuck in the limited as well

I think only 01-02 Limited and 03+ got the 5 speed transmission.

The bosal y pipe on Amazon worked to fix my 06, it was a 2001-2002 part too.

Cheapest is around $700 range...just for the pipe

I had to do the same and replace my Y-pipe. The problem is that most of the ones you can get aftermarket are not legal in California, so you are pretty much stuck using the official mitsubishi one.
