'Levelable' small table to mount on bumper?

Hi All, thinking about building a small table to clip on to my tyre carrier when parked & looking for ideas on how to make it adjustable. The current fold down table on the rear door works well but more bench space would be nice & being able to level it up for cooking on would be even better. You can just see the end of the tyre carrier at the right of the pic, I made it with the drilled vertical receiver for exactly this kind of future expansion.

One idea was to have a frame that holds a basin (so we are indeed carrying everything AND the kitchen sink) with a removable top over it. A little smaller than the existing shelf & it needs to hold ~ 10kg / 22lb.

Being an engineer I can imagine a couple of ways to do it but I see so many cool ideas on here, both DIY & commercial products so I though I'd put it to the collective also.

If it doesn’t have linear actuators, a gps system, and Bluetooth control through your cell phone app, we are cutting a corner off your overland engineering card.

seriously though, some sort of ball mount with a simple tightening cam and a bubble level will probably fix you up nicely.
