Lifting mechanism for pop-up camper

Good morning!

Has anyone built a lifting mechanism, like the one posted below, for their pop-up camper? I really like the way this lifts the roof up before it hinges open. Great way to get around the foot room issue for sleeping up top. I'm sure there are a few critical dimensions and ratios that need to be incorporated into the design of a mechanism like that. Any pointers would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes, off-the-shelf pop-up kits are definitely a huge gap in the market.

Does someone in the west need to do everything first?

Surely in some categories we could go straight to cheap Chinese, not like they don't have the engineering talent.

A 4 bar linkage is just a method of controlling motion between two bodies. The reimo design is just a 4-bar. Combined with a gas strut (think westfalias etc), you can lift a roof without needing a special zero clearance hinge.

Here is a example on the vanagon westfalia. Its not hard to setup with some cardboard mockup.
