Lifts for 2500 Diesels

I recently acquired a 2005 Duramax 2500HD. I don't plan on rock crawling in but I do like to hit some of the more moderate to harder overland trails. It's a crew cab long bed so it's a big truck. And I have a overland trailer I pull. I'd like to lift the truck enough to put 35"s on it to create more ground clearance. Thinking of an 3-5" lift. I want something durable that can take the beating of a heavy truck and something that doesn't sacrifice towing.

What brand of lifts are you guys running that could recommend?

I've had King Coilovers on a mid-size truck, and OMEs on an FJ that I liked but I don't have experience with big trucks.

From my past research when I was looking at GM based trucks, it seems the ones who have the GM IFS suspension/lifts that actually work and hold up is,

I'm also trying to figure out if its worth paying the extra for a coilover kit that eliminates the torsion bar setup.

I doubt I would do that, unless I was doing a lot of extreme offroading and really wanted to tailor the spring rate, travel, etc. I would be more likely to go with a SAS kit and get rid of the IFS, if I was looking to remove the torsion bar setup.

Biggest thing, get out and try what you have. Then figure out what you want/need at that point. I see so many built up rigs, lots of money spent yet never go anywhere a basically stock same vehicle would go. I am 100% for beefing up prone failure points and doing so before they break.
