Lost Canadian
Expedition Leader
I had been playing with the beta version of LR2 and had really started to like it, but I was on the fence as to whether or not I was going to fork out the cash-ola for the upgrade. Well, that was two days ago, and... well, the full version was released and it's ridiculous. If you have version 1.x, pay the $99 bones and upgrade, it's totally worth it.
The coolest thing is, as Michael Reichmann talks about on the LL, you can create and use color matching profiles. Now my pictures, when loaded into Lightroom, can look like they do when I load them into Nikon's Capture NX. Check it out. I have made absolutely no adjustments to these pictures, all I did was load the RAW file into LR, saved one image as jpg with Lightrooms standard ACR 4.4, and then saved a second copy using the custom camera matched profile I created using the Adobe DNG Profile Editor. These examples give you an idea of how cool this is new option is, granted it's even more impressive when you can veiw the images in a larger color space. These were converted to sRGB for the web.
1) Standard ACR 4.4
2) Using my camera matched profile.
How cool is that?!! The other features like the new adjustment brush and such are also really cool.
