Looking for any input (pics) on installation locations, sizes and brands for a power inverter project. I have an 05 LJ and this is the next project on the list. Thanks in advance.

In our TJ, we have a 400 watt one mounted under the front drivers seat. Out of the weather and prying eyes, yet high enough that if it does rain (unexpectedly) it's not sitting in a pool of water.

Here's Mine. Inverter is under the hood up high and wrapped with a shop-vac prefilter. Made a custom harness to the console. it's 400W continuous, 800W peak.

LJ Inverter Install

Monele, has the temp under the hood caused any issues with the inverter? Where did you mount it? I like the console harness, did you strip this off of another inverter?

Thanks for the ideas.

No heat issues. It is mounted as high up on the driver's side fire wall as poss. (I made a custom bracket) I also made the wiring harness and a new faceplate for the inverter after swiping the factory one for the console. I also added a 12V circuit into the mix that is run to the base of the console. All wire is in split-loom for abrasion resistance.

I have a 1000 watt inverter mounted under the steering column and then I have an outlet hard wired into the dash. I have the switch to turn on the inverter wired into the plastic above the rear view mirror. I can take pictures and send them to any email address. The worst part about the portal is that its hard for dummys like me to post pictures.
Oh everything works great with my setup I have no complaints.

Jkeever you should post the pictures I sent you on here since I am to much of a dumb dumb to do it myself.
