LJ Safari Rack - what size?

Found a great deal on a used Kargo Master Congo cage and want to get a basket for it. The Safari Rack comes in either a 60" length or a 74" length ( plus a shorter on for TJs).

Quadratec says the 74" rack is just for 4 door JK's, but a few other sites including 4 wheel parts say the 74" will fit the LJ. Finally, I measured and it appears the 74" would cover the roof but not overhang, a good fit I believe.

Curious if anyone has advice about this, there could be a reason to stick with the shorter rack I suppose...and maybe the 74" won't even mount to the LJ cage? I don't know how it attaches or if there is adjustability.

I suspect that the larger rack will fit the LJ just fine. I have the Kargo Master Congo Cage and 60" Bushman rack on my TJ.

The rack mounts to the cage at the crossbars, which clamp to the tubes of the Congo cage. The crossbars are inboard from the ends of the rack, giving plenty of room for fore and aft adjustment.

I initially installed my Bushman rack centered, but ran into problems with wind noise.

Here is a picture with the rack centered, and (over) loaded for camping right after I got the cage/rack.

I've never had any stability issues, but the wind noise can get very bad at times. I made a spoiler after my first couple trips, which helped quite a bit, but didn't completely solve the problem. I eventually figured out that a lot of the noise was coming from the wind flowing up the windshield, and through the rack and cargo. Moving the rack back as far as it would go quieted it down a lot. Now the wind noise through the rack not really noticeable over the noise from the soft top below 65mph, but that seems to be the threshold. Traveling at anything over 70mph is unbearably loud.

I gotta think you will be fine with the 74" rack. On my recently sold LJ I had Garvin Industries' Expedition Rack, which according to Quadrtec is 89.5" long. That might include the risers though.
