Lock and Roll bolted on to truck

Has anybody modified the truck portion of the Lock and Roll coupler to bolt on to the truck instead of using a receiver?

I am currently using a pintle on the truck and would like to avoid having a receiver drop down any lower then the bumper I currently have.

If you have a picture or any ideas on how to accomplish this, please let me know. I haven't seen a coupler in person but the web site does show it attached to a regular ball receiver, maybe I could make a plate that bolts on that duplicates that??

Thanks

Take the standard ball mount, cut to proper length, weld on plate with appropriate bolt pattern, bolt to truck? I think that this approach would be the simplest solution to what you are proposing. Maybe I'm not thinking this through enough. If you did do this I believe that it would be important to make sure the plate is thick/strong enough for the load that it will see. I would even consider piercing the plate so that you could weld the ball mount from both the front an the back. I'm just guessing on all of this, but what do you think?

p.s. Post up pictures of what you end up doing.

Nope, I think that's what I am going to end up doing. Basically I will remove my pintle and attach the plated that has the ball mount tab on it. I won't know exactly how it's going to work until I get a coupler in my hand.

It's too bad that there isn't a version of the coupler that bolts on like a pintle. Seems like that would be a natural given how many off road oriented vehicles come with that bolt pattern already on them.

That's a good point. I sent off an email to Lock N' Roll to see if they have a solution or would/are designing an option to bolt on. It really would make sense for them to offer this option.
