Long time lurker with build questions

Hello everyone,

I'm a long time "lurker" and really don't post much on Expo - but alot on mud in the 80 series section. Anyway, I'm building my 1992 FJ80 for expo and want to get the opinions from the group regarding my planned mods.

I use my truck as a base camp for hunting, fishing, kayaking & recreation and usually the trips are Fri-sun. I do travel a few times a year for hunting trips in Wyoming & Idaho. From Houston that's roughly 4,000 miles round trip. We usually do this in a 2010 F250 but I would like to start using the 80.

Are my mods a solid base? What would you change? Why?

Mods:

Stage 1: lift, monstaliner, bullbar, winch, tint, 33's, brakes, PM (COMPLETE)

Stage 2: roof rack (j-moose), RTT (TBD), awning, drawer system (custom), flexi tank (in progress)

Stage 3: Fridge, rear bumper, sliders,on board air

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 3FE and adding Man A Fre cams, as well as a host of other goodies.

Looks great!
Rear bumper with a second spare?
Make sure you pick the RTT that will work best for you, try as many as possible before dropping the coin.
We had an Eezi-Awn, it didn't work well for our rig as the added height proved to be an issue on many trails we regularly run; in retrospect we should have gone with a Maggiolina.
That being said it has been fun watching our build morph over the years, plus we're looking forwards to a road trip to pick up a Maggiolina from Mudrak at some point.

What's up with everyone wanting a second spare. Not to be rude but for weekend huntin trips...really? A full size spare, compressor, and plug kit is plenty.

Thanks for the replies,

I'd love a Maggie, however I do need the roof space. Plus, there's that whole cost thing...

I'll prob end up picking one up in the classifieds.

Looks like a good start. I know a lot of people like to do a dual battery system when they are running fridges and such. Might be overkill, I haven't really looked into it.
