Looking for a good bulkhead connector.

I have never put lights on the roof of a truck before, but I am getting tired of working in the dark this time of year. I am looking to put 4 independently switched sets of lights up top. I have never had to use a bulkhead connector but I want something that isn't going to leak in a year. And preferably doesn't look like an elephant toenail on top of the truck.

I've always run the wire in a loom down the "A" pillar into the engine compartment. Why switch the lights independently? I had 8 LED flood lights on the roof of my FJ60 all with one switch. Great for setting up camp in the dark.

I would look at marine cable seals like Blue Seal (just as an example, other companies make them too). Lots of sizes and differences.

I assume since you said connector you want the ability to disconnect the wiring. I would use something like this. I could find higher pin counts on straight connectors. If it were me I would try to use the 4 pin and a good ground up on the roof.

Deutsch makes some nice bulkheads.

A lot of DOD and Aerospace applications use 38999 circular connectors. They are not that expensive when you buy them with out all the certs. Look up Glenair or Amphenol stuff. Heck, just a generic google for 38999. Pick your size and style.

This would be good. As for my 2013 Land Cruiser, I'm running the Go-Light and 360 flood light wires right down the "A" pillars. The three antenna wires will go down through the rear hatch door. no drilling.

Because there is no sense in having 8 lights on when 2 will work just fine.

I think this is the one I am going with. Since the wire comes out of it at an angle it will be lower profile that what I was finding that stuck straight up in the air.
