Looking for input and opinions on the Earthroamer floorpan

Hi everybody,

I am in the process of planning my camper build. I'm looking everywhere for ideas, at the moment I am studying John Speed's book. I own fiberglass box that is close to exactly the same size as the EarthRoamer cabin - minus the cabover. The door is roughly in the same spot and I plan on installing a pop top for sleeping.

I have studied what pictures I can find of the ER interior, and I really like how it looks. I am considering the option of duplicating the EarthRoamer interior for my rig, with the exception of the pop top and installing the bathroom in the entrance.

I was just wondering what kind of input I could get from any ER owners/users out there pertaining to the use of space, floorplan etc. Things you like and dislike, what you would change...things like that.

Do you have an idea of what the interior dimensions of the earthroamer xv-lt are? I'm wondering what the measurement is from the front wall of the lower living area to the back(inside)DIMENSION A of the closet. And the width DIMENSION B.

I'm also planning a possible camper build and I'm liking their floor plan but not sure it will fit within the space I have.

I am not an earthroamer owner, but I have looked at them quite a bit. For my uses I thought moving the stove and cabinets across the cab next to the fridge. Then put two bunks in place of the bench and stove area. That way I could have two friends hunt and fish out of the earthroamer without having to share a small bed that blocks my night access to the head. Top bunk would slide up and be a storage shelf during the day and the bottom bunk would work as a long couch or fold up for more internal space.

I read a self build report (sorry cant find address). They purchased some sheets of polystyrene foam and produced a complete mock up of the layout internally allowing them to get an idea of how the layout suited them.

DIMENSION A is about 11 feet, DIMENSION B is just under 8 feet..

EarthRoamer had a similar floorplan that was offered until 2005 IIRC, but it just had the overhead cabinets still in place, no top bunk..
