I agree. Not only not selling but not even any interest. So many vehicles for sale with little engagement. Thus is resulting in more people payi g to have a featured post but even those are not selling. Ive never seen so many for sell with no movement.

It's the market, and your prices. They are basically double what anyone can risk paying for "camping". IJS 🤷‍♂️
Agree its the market if you mean economy. Disagree that it is the prices are double for "camping" gear as you say. I have been a member since 2017 and have followed vehicles that get posted. Yes some are priced to high but even they would still sell. Others are a value for the listed price. The current economy is the primary driver as people are hesitant to buy much of anything right now.

Hence exactly what I said. It's risk vs reward. Currently the risk is high, and the price is the driver of said risk in this market.

I also think there's some market saturation...there are a lot more companies trying to put out similar products and prices are competitive. I understand people wanting to get their money back, but they bought too high. Yeah, "used" prices here can be too high.

It’s basic Econ. I had a trailer I needed to sell. I lowered the price and eventually found interest and completed a sale thanks to the forum. I think now that we’re post-Covid peak overland fever, prices for certain types of trailers are going to have to come back to reality.

Well, these rates certainly aren’t going to help cash strapped buyers budget for a pricey used rig, are they?

But as to sales effectiveness…In general, at least most of the FSBO ads on Expo are much better written and more informative than those we find on FB or Craigslist or other portals.

I don’t know if this is an across the board generational issue with the younger sellers, but so many of the ads for the rigs we’ve looked at on those platforms that are written by GenZ/Millenial sellers are devoid of useful info and/or often seem to be worthless AI generated fluff…often describing experience not technical information and including few pictures.

One ad we saw last week for a $50k+ rig contained 4 blurry pictures of the interior, NONE of the outside of the camper and was a very short single paragraph description without any technical detail!

Just for fun, here’s a great actual example of a current listing on a camper van for sale website:

“This (camper van) has been expertly converted into a stylish and functional camper, featuring a pop-up roof that maximizes space and versatility.

With only 22,600 miles on the odometer, this van promises reliable performance and longevity, making it a standout option for adventurous buyers.

Key Features: • Low Mileage & Quality Conversion: The vehicle’s low mileage underlines its light use, while the custom pop-up conversion offers a unique blend of comfort and practicality. • Versatility for Every Adventure: Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, weekend warriors, and those seeking a mobile retreat that doubles as a work or leisure vehicle. • Exceptional Value: Priced at $50,000, this (camper) combines performance, style, and utility, offering excellent value in today’s market.

Perfect for the Discerning Buyer: Whether you’re planning extended road trips, camping adventures, or simply need a versatile vehicle for everyday use, this camper conversion is tailored to meet your needs.

This listing is designed to catch the eye of buyers who value the rugged capability and refined comfort of a professionally converted camper van. It’s an opportunity to own a vehicle that stands out from the crowd and supports a dynamic, adventure-filled lifestyle. Only serious schedules for checking the van and the price are available. “

Yup…that’s all ya need to know about what the build of this rig includes before ya plunk down yer $50’! And since it’s not a local seller, the warm and fuzzy description should make you fully confident to send the anonymous seller a big fat deposit to hold this sight unseen beauty…🤣 😁😳🥱

To Infinity and Beyond!
As is always the case.

It's all about the Price Matching the Condition!

Unfortunately, that is rare these days.

COVID left 2+ years ago along with COVID pricing on RV's and most anything else. Most sellers today do not understand that concept and therefore are OVERPRICED for the Current Market.

OVERPRICED = NO SALE!

Pretty Simple!

Hopefully people aren't financing these toys so interest rates might not be much of a concern to the RV buyer.
Shiiit! I bet over 80% are. I cannot tell you how many people I know PERSONALLY that finance every damn thing. Even tillers from DR Horton. It's ridiculous. I owe nobody, and never will. If you finance your life, you own nothing, and everyone owns you.

This seller as well as many here want height of Covid prices for tents on wheels. It's not happening. Drop the price by half if you want to sell anything.

That’s an interesting thought but really, how many people today have readily available cash in an amount of $40-$125k +/- to buy a new toy?

I keep seeing articles in the financial pages that the majority of folks in the US are basically one busted transmission repair away from being completely broke…or worse.

So, perhaps not having the sufficient cash on hand, coupled with painfully high loan interest rates has combined to stifle this market?

Here’s a simple test of that:
How many of you expo members could buy a new (or pricey used) rig for cash right now? And for those that could, how many of you would consider doing that to be the best use of your financial cushion?
(Be honest now…)
