Looking for Rear Bumper Mounted Swing Arm Rack

Maybe rear bumpers are just not strong enough on their own. I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but it seemed to be the best fit. I have a Nissan Titan with what I think is a fairly strong rear bumper. I'm looking to add a swing arm to hold a gas can or two. I don't need it to be stout enough to hold a tire too, just the cans. I don't have a hitch and would prefer not to add one due to a loss in departure angle. A swing arm isn't 100% necessary I suppose. Basically, I'm looking for exterior storage of a couple of gas cans. Anyone have any ideas?

either way tire or no tires u want it to be strong, two 5 gallon cans of fuel weights over 65 lbs so that alone is a bit. i would suggest welding a receiver in the bumper, u can weld the front flush and u wont loose any departure angle at all. the pin just get put in from the back of the bumper. there are a lot of different hinge configurations that u can use and most will work just fine . im using bronze bushing in my swingout gate and theys worked great and still have no movement in them. i have a 93 lbs spare including wheel and highlift on my bumper and its held up great. seach swingout carriers and ull find alot of pics of what people have built with some great ideas.

I did not attach to my bumper but I did build a support system under it to hold the weight. It was a lot of head scratching and fun and in the end I would never do it again :ylsmoke:

Yep, that's about what I was talking about. I may have the kid that did my rock sliders try to fab something up. I'd just be afraid of the hinge being strong enough. Time for more internet research on hinge options.
