Looking for reviews on the Tepui "awning Extension"

Curious if anyone on expo is using their Tepui "Awning Extension" as a tent.
I would use it in combination with the awning.

How long does it take to set up? Does it keep out the elements well?
Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

While you're waiting for some actual feedback. I'll chime in. Setup should take less than 5 min typically. The awning extension is just as weather resistant as the Tepui tents. Using at a tent is a common practice. It is much more secure and stable when attached to the awning. The top edge of the extension will slide into the track at the edge of the awning and hold the top of the extension and keep it secure.

Was it difficult to deploy? Maybe the design was cumbersome for one person to set up, or it was due to the possible defect?

One person can set it up very easily.... Take it out of the bag, unfold the legs, pull it up forward, lock the legs and you're pretty much done, other than staking it down and whatnot...... My issue was that the legs folded in awkwardly and at an odd angle which didn't allow it to fold onto itself... Didn't look quite "right" and was unlike all the other pictures and videos of it that I researched beforehand. Customer Service was awesome though, they took care of it immediately

Tepui Awning Extension

I have had my awning extension for a couple of months now and have enjoyed it. As with any purchase, practice at home makes for an easier setup in the field. The fabric weight is the same as the awnings and tent material. My set up time is about 5 minutes to 10 minutes depending on the windy conditions of the day. It can be used with or without the awning for a more versatile setup arrangement.
I hope this helps with your decision.
Happy New Year!

Hey guys, I just bought a ARB 2000 Awning and I am thinking about the Extension as well. First will it fit on the channel on the ARB awning and second, could you use it as a stand alone tent? Thanks.

How difficult is it to detach/reattach to the awning? I'm considering one as a way to leave some shelter behind for my wife or daughter when making a day trip into town or on the trail. It would also be nice for "marking" my presence in a camp spot while out on a day trip.

Just slide it out of the channel at the edge of the awning. pretty simple.

So I would have to slowly drive away while someone held onto the channel piece to detach and then do something similar upon my return? I think a new accessory/feature could be very useful here: a zip-off or Velcro bulb (extension side) or a standalone bulb & channel piece that can be split in half by a zipper or Velcro.

(Sorry for the thread jack)

I'm just going to assume that was sarcasm. But if you really want to make it that difficult, I guess you can try it. It's not that hard to remove.

The first part was sarcasm, the latter wasn't. I am having a hard time visualizing how one would successfully detach and reattach the awning from the extension without having to take down the extension or pulling up stakes and dragging it. In order to slide the bulb into or out of the track something is going to have to traverse the 6 feet. I'm obviously missing something here or just plain over-thinking it...

And not sure that, that's the attitude i'd be looking for from a Tepui Tent vendor. However I am still interested in the product. Will it attach to an ARB 2000 Awning? Thanks.
