Loud clicking from the passenger dash area when I turn on the ac

I hear Loud clicking from the passenger dash area when I turn on the ac or heater and change knob to 1-2,3,4. what could be the cause and how I fix it.

Sounds like a stuck a/c servo motor. You're gonna have to take the panel off the passenger side below the dash board and listen for where the sound is coming from and replace the bad servo

I haven't replaced any on my montero, but I've replaced them on other cars. Depending on which servo it is, it can be a real easy job with a stubby screwdriver, or it can be the hardest thing you've ever done in your life. Good luck and let us know what you find.

I don't think I am going to miss with this one, even though it is nice to have AC in summer.

Had a similar issue on my truck. Took the blower out from under the lower glove box and there was a dry leaf in between the fins causing the clicking sound. Could be that simple?

this is for 98, do you have to remove glove box to get to blower? is there DIY for 98 Montero ? can't find it in server manual.
