Low amp, wet location connection for truck bed

Going through the floor is not a bad option, actually, a good gland will protect a cable underwater. I've used quality strain-relief connectors to do just that to connect a frame mounted battery to a fuse block, shunt and solar controller in the cab. It makes for short runs, cables better protected from being snagged or crushed and the connectors are built to clamp onto sheetmetal. Some judicious sealing of the threads and the hole will keep everything dry.

That may be a simpler way to get wire from the engine bay to the house system. The undercarriage is armored over most of the length of the run, too.
