LR3 rear driveshaft

I just replaced mine due to the carrier bearing bushing tearing. Not surprising given the 165k or so it lasted. My question is what are other people seeing as far as front or rear driveshaft wear or CV axle wear?
I thought a noise I heard was the rear driveshaft due to the carrier bushing allowing too much movement but after replacing it I still hear it slightly. I've replaced both front wheel bearings and the RR wheel bearing, left is still tight but may get replaced as a matter of course. Starting to think it's a CV axle.

@ 135k I don't see any driveshaft wear but I recently broke a front passenger axle.

Don't do that btw as you'll be mostly stranded(moved for about 3 miles in rock crawl/low range @ 15mph).

Checked them when I serviced all 3. Will recheck again. From my experience diffs make a constant groaning, this is more rotational.

I've had both front and rear diffs replaced on my 2006 LR3... Front was replaced under warranty, rear was replaced a my expense. On the rear, the problem was a worn, non-replaceable bearing on the right side. The front sounded to me like CV joint noise, but they didn't really say what they fixed other than it took a week to get the parts. YMMV.

All those diffs are repairable I sell the parts. Sounds like you are describing the torrington roller bearings... seems odd.

Not typically if they are in good shape. The gears were kind of crappy, so we manufacture better ones. Problem solved.. The groaning gets worse and worse until it's a dull roar.. LOL.

Are you running at an extended height full time or at stock? Any wheel spacers or oversized tires?

Well this probably will not come as much of a surprise, rear diff pinion bearing is the cause. Confirmed driving while on a rack with multiple LR techs including a master tech. Looks like I'm researching the best option, either rebuild or replacement. Rear diff is non locking so that should keep the cost down a bit.
