LR4 rear bumper options?

So pick up a new to me 2012 LR4, maybe post more on it and first trail impressions later. Looks beautiful in white still with the dealer plates on her and some knuckle dragger smashes into the rear bumper in a parking lot leaving an ugly black streak across the passenger corner. Paint completely rubbed off. Now if I would have done this on the trail, such is life. Perhaps even something to be proud of like your first stiches. But in the parking lot less than 10 minutes after parking?

Anyway, can't bring myself to pay to fix it when that is money that could go towards upgrading to a real bumper. I can't seem to find any available for the 4s. See many references to the Kaymars which have apparently gone extinct and a few other vague mentions to potential ones being developed. Before I waste anymore time searching, figured I would see what all of you would suggest.

Thanks.

I am hoping to buy a bumper soon also for my 2013 LR4. I'd like one with a tire swingout, but one that I can remove so I don't have to always have the tire on the back.

I am looking at the Tactical 4x4 right now. I need to call them and ask about it.

It can probably be done, but not easily. It takes some adjustment and difficult reaching. The bumper is also available without the tire carrier, but I love having it on the back. That's where it should have been from the factory!

Huskyfargo, thanks for the pictures. I spoke with Eric over at Tactical who said they have bumpers for the LR4 as they are the 3 and the 4 as all the info for both trucks are the same even though it is not mentioned on the website.

Could you send me a couple of other pictures of your truck? Mine is white too with black wheels and I would like to get a feel for the overall look.

I have the T4x4 on my LR4. Great bumper, super easy install.

Pretty much the only options are Tactical and Kaymar. Kaymar doesn't have a US disty anymore, so you have to ship them in yourself for a few extra scheckles. We have examples of both in our club and to be honest I'm not thrilled with the Kaymar for the money. It's definitely not up to rock crawling and the gaps are not great.

Or you can go the way I did and just get a friend with a welder...

My buddy Pedram built this with a little help from me. OK, mostly I just made design changes to make it harder to build... :) This was right after it was finished...it's been drug through a lot of rocks since so it's not so clean these days but I just touch it up with some Rustoleum and a 4" roller. I've also added some flush-mount LED lights wired to my back-up lights since you can't see squat out of these tinted windows at night.

The design is sort of based on the look of the Tactical bumper, but I wanted to get rid of the stock tow hitch and put in a standard reciever. I also wanted welded on for strength. It's taken some pretty good hits and hasn't flexed enough to crack a tail light, unlike some friend's Kaymars.

This is great, but why no side support around the muffler to the frame?

Not sure which bumper you are referring to. On mine I do have supports from the frame out to the sides passing just under the mufflers. But of course they are welded on. I suspect that is why the bolt on offerings don't have the, though I seem to remember something like it on the Kaymar that may have required removal of the rear mufflers (?)
