Hey everyone! Been lurking around these forums for the last 4 months and it's been a wealth of information!
It took me around 4 months of checking CL and FB marketplace for M416 trailers until I finally stumbled across a M762 that the first owner modified with a steel box. My main use for this will be for camping but i'll probably use it for some hauling here and there.
My first project was adding some wheel adapters so I could mount Gladiator take offs I scored for $400 on there. It still had the original wheels/tires on it and I don't trust them enough to get me around. Next I removed the back of the custom box and crafted myself a tailgate that swings open. I'm not a welder so everything is bolted on. I've been rushing to get some of these things done so I can take it out a few times this year before winter hits. I have a smittybuilt RTT that I will be mounting to the top.
I plan on working on this and adding to it for the years to come. There's one thing I need to address in the next few weeks and that's the fenders...currently there's very little clearance with the larger tires. I'm thinking about cutting them up and removing the lip that angles down to buy myself another inch. Next summer i'll end up ordering some concept camping M416 fender flares which are larger but I don't want to spend anymore money on this thing this year.
