It's not Toyota, it's the US government. Something about not meeting safety standards, probably emissions too. Yet for some reason safety standards are non-existant on motorcycles?? By the time they get it to meet standards it looks like a tundra... Well, sure it could be styled different. There is no reason though you can't have something like that custom built for a tundra though, all it takes is money. I think they call it an earthromer when it is done on a ford...

Anyways I'll be driving the companies 70 series's again in a few days. They are nice, but it might as well be an 1980's US truck with how it drives, rides, and comfort amenities...

I know exactly why, I wuz being facetious. Not enough [perceived] demand/market in US to justify the costs it takes to comply with NTSB--so both US gov and Toyota. And, can't blame them, look how poor UZJ200 sales have been? Seems the average US SUV owner flips it every 5 years, and balks at Toyota's list prices. I keep looking for a >1989 BJ78 in Costa Rica to bring back, but they cost more than any other used truck in central america, like >$15K with a quarter million Kms on it,...but nothing with 4WD breaks less

Exactly why they aren't here and the American public wouldn't buy them in large numbers if they were. Not many would be willing to pay 60-70K for a new 1980's truck. Same for Defenders, etc.
