Michigan UP Trip

We decided last minute to reverse the original course and cross the Mackinac Bridge then head up to Whitefish point and head west and up to copper harbor from there.
H ad a hard time at first finding free camping sowe stayed at the various little state campgrounds on the smaller lakes. Found a great "free" spot along lake superior right on the beach one of the nights but the blood thirsty flies chased us out the next morning. We took in alot of the well known places I've seen photo's of on expo. I wish we had more time to explore the UP,It is a beautiful place. Heres photo's from the trip.

Very cool, the UP is an incredible place to be, I just made a trip up to pictured rocks last year and it was really incredible, we rented a pontoon boat and we were able to go where ever we wanted which was super cool. At one point my girlfriend and I hopped off of the pontoon and went swimming right up to the edge of that cliff in the first two photos of your 5th post.

The rain stopped just after crossing the mackinac bridge and was great the entire week. I could live with the cramped jeep,it's the 12.5 mpg that was killing me.
