Mitsubishi is Going to Launch a New SUV Every Year

Great, Mitsu is going to be bankrupt in 5 years...

They already have a slew of niche vehicles, creating more and cannibalizing sales from your existing buyers/models isn't the way you grow your company. How many people are screaming at them to get us a real SUV? They already make the damn thing, just ship it here, you know it is called the Pajero. At least in the US it seems like Mitsu is advertizing with flat brims (hats) and F&F Eleventyfivehundred. They have a strong racing and work heritage yet none of my buddies have ever heard of a Pajero, Delica, the only thing they think of when you ask them about Mitsubishi is that they make the EVO and some crappy commuter cars trying to be an SUV.

They want to increase sales, focus in on a core mission, perfect it and then make lots of them. In an age of the Raptor, the Power Wagon and other pickups that are oriented to the drive to work M-F and play "Dust to Glory" on the week end trucks, can you explain why no PAJERO?!!!? My WIFE wants an SUV that is more capable than some stupid "cross over SUV" s she can take the kids out in that she can keep up with her friends that only have 2 kids and a Raptor when they go off roading to get a break from the city stuff. Jeep doesn't make a 7 pax SUV worthy of mention, Exploders and Expeditions are stupid expensive BEFORE you begin to get them off road ready. Same with any of GM, Toyota or any other MFGR. No one thought they would sell as many Raptors as they have and every single one they will produce this year are already presold.

What really makes me sick is not knowing WHY Mitsubishi doesn't bring the Montero to the U.S.!!!!!! Is maybe pressure from the other auto makers to avoid Montero of kicking their asses in SUV sales??? IS NOT FAIR!!!!

From what i understand, the Montero is getting axed, so it doesnt matter much. It never kicked *** in the US, and wouldn't sell well without a V8 because AMERICA!

You mean the Pajero?
Every single person who isn't a fan of Mitsubishi has no idea of how much the Pajero has done outside the US and think is is an also ran SUV. When they learn about Dakar and see what mine does, they wanna know where they can buy one.

Anyone know why they chose to make up the Montero name instead of going with Pajero/Shogun?

Oh and no V8 causing it not to sell? Ever driven a Ford F-150 with the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost? Test drive one and tell me again how a V8 rules...

I'm just stating how historically this works in the US. I'm not saying i wouldn't personally be interested in one, besides that the price would be approximately 10x my budget for a vehicle. Especially if it came with a 3.5 V6 Ecoboost. ;) (Best friend has a 2015)

Toyota just announced the T Force 4 Runner...yeh, aggressive off-road SUVs simply dont sell in the US. :smiley_drive: Man I cant wait for the 2017 Raptor!
