MJ - Snorkel with 4.7L Stroker?

I don't post on here very much, mainly just a lurker and absorber of all the good info on here.

I do have a question though that I feel is worth posting. I've been converting a '90 MJ into '99 MJ (donor '99 XJ) for the past 8 months. Currently my engine is at the machine shop being built into a 4.7L stroker. I will be using the truck for weekend trips, camping, exploring, rock crawling etc..so I would really like to run an ARB snorkel or AirFlow snorkel set up with a high flow drop in air filter in the factory box, like a K&N, versus a true cold air intake like the FIPK.

I'm concerned that the snorkel will not flow enough air to feed the stroker? Does anyone have an real word experience running a snorkel set up on a stroked 4.0L?

hmmm, I have ZERO knowledge on that, but I'd suggest calling the snorkel manufacturer. They could probably tell you since they designed it. Maybe you'd just need a different model to make it work ratherthan the one designed for the 4.0L

I built a 4.6L stroker for a cherokee that I used to have which also had a snorkel. It breathed just fine, and with the snorkel intake right by the open window it sounded pretty mean too.

Thanks for the help. I'm leaning towards the AirFlow snorkel because of it's routing design for the tube into the air box.
