Modify M101 or build new "Horizon" copy cat

I am contemplating building a new trailer and copying the Horizon design from Adventure Trailers or customizing my M101, and would like some others opinions. I am not sure which style of trailer I like better, or that would suit my needs better.

I want to have my Engel in the trailer, have a RTT on the trailer, have water and fuel on the trailer, have camping gear in the trailer.

I already have a CDN M101 that I have installed a tailgate to and done a SOA running 9.00R16 XL tires on. It's a great trailer, but would need a lot of customization to get what I want out of it. Wider fenders, propane storage, water storage, fuel storage, longer tongue, lid, drawer slide, camp kitchen, and I have come to the conclusion that I will never get it close to dust proof inside.

The reason for making the "horizon copy" (besides it's a great trailer design) and not buying one is mainly due to cost. I would like to customize the box size and do a few other small changes. Plus I like building things... But, what I am finding out is that for high quality parts and custom parts, it gets expensive. FAST. The Horizon is a good deal at it's price point for the quality of product you get.

I have bought the steel and I am thinking of getting a set of Aluminum boxes made by a friend from a local truck tool box manufacture. They would be three custom boxes for my application that would bolt on to a frame that I would make. I would be starting from scratch, which appeals to me instead of trying to retro-fit a different trailer. It would be exactly what I would want. It is going to cost a few thousand less then what a new horizon is worth but it will also be labor intensive to do it right. I "think" I would build the M101 for a couple thousand dollars less then the home built from scratch, but it's going to be a toss up after adding all the extra for both trailers.

I am just not sure which way to go.

Do any of you have both a Chaser style trailer and a Horizon style trailer? Which style do you like and why?

Can we call your new trailer "Bob"

Definitely build a custom one instead or modding the 101.
I have a 101 almost done like you describe but would start from scratch if I were to do it again...
