Modifying Swivel Seat Base

I'm trying to modify a E van swivel base to fit my aftermarket seats.

My after market seat bolt pattern is literally almost half an inch bigger than the stock bolt pattern on all sides! LOL

So instead of making an adapter, I am thinking about just making the existing holes bigger/oblong. The problem is that it will now leave just 1/8" between the hole and one of the edges on each side.

The seat belt would still be bolted to the floor.

I am assuming this is reasonably safe because the seat belt is still bolted separate from the seat.

Thoughts?

Don´t make wholes longer! These can work themselves out. I am not a fabricator but this is something to be expected.

This is how I did mine. The standard rear seat console almost fit the front seat. In a nutshell I used 6 mm whole length steel plate to extend the reach of the bolts.

Yeah I made the holes longer at first, but it felt iffy. So I went to the hard ware store and they had thick steel bars in the perfect sizes with the holes drilled in them in the perfect spot. I reinforced everything with these bars. It was pretty amazing. I was so happy and the people in the store were looking at me weird when I left. lol
