Montero anti lock light

2003 Montero Limited
Heavy rainfall and now anti lock brake light on as well as traction light on.. checked all fuses fine check brake fluid find not sure what to do any help would be great

Also fighting a p0171 code going to replace all O2 sensors

Have you replaced your hydraulic brake booster and accumulator yet? I say that because it's a likely cause and something that you should do just in case (brake failure is bad) - however, it may not be the cause of your issue. When I did mine the brake booster was bad (missing chunks in the motor) but it didn't solve the intermittent Anti-lock light.

No haven't changed anything of that yet, just find it strange for it to come on, I did put led lights in my brake lights and that's it

You should be able to check resistance for each wheel speed sensor, that would be my starting point. I don't have a Gen-3 but most traction control systems and ABS rely on the same wheel speed sensors. If you have one acting up that would explain your problem. What I don't know is if the Gen-3's incorporated the wheel speed sensor into the bearing or were they still an external sensor mounted in the knuckle?

Okay yeah you guys won't believe this, the led brake lights I installed, I swap those out for regular halogen bulbs and Bam, antilock light and trac light all went off on there own

Well that's interesting, I had recently installed led brake lights as well.... mine is intermittent though, so I'd give it a couple weeks before declaring victory.

I've got a new led relay to install for the turn signals to fix hyper flash, shouldn't help with the brake lights, but it makes me wonder if there is sensing in that circuit as well.

Ya it definitely does not make sense on why the antilock light would pop on due to it, but oh well glad I got it off
