Montero Road Trip and Meetup - Tuktoyaktuk and Prudhoe Bay

Thought I'd throw this out there... I intend to drive through Alaska to Deadhorse, hopefully get access to Prudhoe Bay, then drop back down through Chicken and Dawson City, Canada, then up to Tuk. Want to make this happen toward the end of summer this year. Would anyone else be up for it?

Yeah, that's essentially my issue too. I can probably take the time off, just wouldn't get paid. So I have to factor lost income into the trip cost. Maybe there would be different members who could join for various stretches of the trip? I'll be coming from Texas, so going through Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Victoria BC, etc.

There is a Gen3 who did the drive to the Artic Circle, he is on Facebook but I am sure he has a lot of advice and experience!

We'd have taken our Montero on our trip through Canada (2022/2023) but shipping rates were sky-high so we bought a Wrangler in Vancouver and took that to Tuktoyaktuk, Labrador, Thompson, and a few other places instead of the Montero. Apologies for the irrelevance of this post : )

Not irrelevant at all. All the way across Canada is another trip I'd love to do. Looking at your profile pic, are you in Australia? The Big Lap is also on my list.

The profile pic was taken at Uluru, however we are in Colombia at present. The "big trips" so far have been South America (11 months), Africa (10 months), Australia (10 months) and Canada (11 months). We're planning for South Asia next year. Here's the "big lap" (actually a lap and a half - all the way around, plus Queensland to Tasmania and back).

We've been considering the trip up to the Circle, but to team up with other travelers we should consider some areas of interest and points in common.

1. Only legal drugs would go on a trip like that, beer being legal.
2. How many females would be going and how old are they?
3. What kind of music would be endured in camp? ROCK IS GOOD.
4. Can you swim?
5. What medical experience/qualifications do you have?
6. What vehicle are you taking and what's the condition?
7. How well do you get along with wild life, including bar tenders?
8. Do you carry firewood?
9. If you dropped your steak off your plate in the dirt, what would you do?
10. How many hours a day do you plan on driving?

Don't forget guys, the ultimate plan is retirement.
