Mosquitos

Hello, question for you van guys, I see these great pics of vans at campsite with the side doors open. Is there a solution for keeping mosquitos out of the van like a net door that can easily get in/out through?
Thanks

We use one similar to this one on our side door:

http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Screen-Door-Mesh-Curtain/dp/B00LPLHX1M

It's not terribly complicated. It's a simple screen with lightweight, flat magnets sewn into the seams so that they reattach after you pass through.

On our rear doors we simply spray Deep Woods Off around the door jams and the top parts of the canopy. It isn't a permanent solution but it keeps the mosquitoes away for the evening. I also spray the outside of a baseball hat to keep them away from my face.

Screens for Van Doors

My wife made these for the back doors of our Van, got material at local sewing place, screen is just a green see through fabric, and bottom is solid fabric, she sewed on Velcro to the sides and bottom and I attached the Velcro to the with glue to the jambs and bottom of door opening, we have used this for 2 summers now and love the fresh air with no bugs/bats or other bugs coming in at night.

We have had good luck with our skeeter beeters..http://theskeeterbeater.com/

We sleep with doors closed so they have been working fine, the doors are open a lot due to the nature of active camping so bugs just get in. We try to close the doors around dusk when the wave of skeeter's come through. Once inside for bed we turn on the lights and seek and destroy the skeet's, a few minutes and any stragglers will buzz in your ear and blam! (last one dead time to sleep). Before a trip in black fly country I will make some side and rear door screens though, Explorer Conversion Vans has a super high dollar rear screen option, good for some ideas.

Is it effective when there is a light breeze, other than downwind?

It works fine but if there's a strong breeze... I keep it in the van to make a cloud, and prevents them from entering. And then I put on the fantastic to suck out the poison before bed or staying inside.
