Moto Mundo: Electric World Tour

Expedition Leader
Moto Mundo is a project of two journalists from Denmark. Driving electric powered Nissans, the couple have driven across Europe, Asia and half of North America. Their web site has information about the project and a daily blog.

The all-electric vehicles have a range of about 120 miles / 200 km on a charge, so a daily journey of 100 miles or so is the rule. The vehicles recharge from the power grid if they stop in a town, or from a portable generator when it's not possible to plug in.

Reading the blog, I think the team travels with a small truck as support vehicle. The truck breaks down several times. The electric vehicles have few problems, but the team does wish for more ground clearance on the dirt roads of Siberia.

Keep an eye out for the team as they pass across Texas, and then north to the Detroit Auto Show by Jan 16. Their route will then pass through Toronto and New York City before shipping the vehicles home.

The team is traveling in New Mexico today. This link shows their current position
