Mounting dual bander antenna on ARB bull bar antenna tabs

I found that the Diamond Antenna C213 Coaxial Cable Assembly fits the antenna tabs on my ARB bullbar perfectly. If you're looking for a simple way to mount an antenna on your rig, you might try this avenue. This is the part on EE's site:

I have one as part of one of Diamond's clamp-on roof rack antenna mounts. I took out the cable assembly and tried it on the ARB. Fits perfectly!

I had enough coax to mount mine on the driver's side (radio is behind the rear seat of my double cab Tacoma.) Bad idea, as it's very distracting while driving with an antenna right in front of your view. I'm going to move it to the passenger side with an extension coax, and use the Diamond NR770HB Dualband Antenna which can be folded over when not in use (or just remove it completely to prevent theft.)

It's always nice to find something that just happens to do exactly what you need without a lot of fuss.

Cool man!!

Love to see a picture of the antenna on with a good shot of your truck...I'm think of mounting it their but have not made up my mind yet! i have always told myself that it would be weird to look at all the time while on the road!

I need to extend the coax and move it to the passenger side. It is very distracting with an antenna mounted right now. Like, don't even consider mounting an antenna in front of your face. It's just a bad idea.

I had both my antennas out on the ARB for a while. Upside is that they work fine, nice that it's mounted relatively low. Downside is that you end up with a stainless steel wire frame all the time. I have them on the roof now, which I like better overall, although the trees here do hit them (although not so much of an issue for you guys down in the desert). BTW, this PL-259 mount looks a lot like the way pskhaat has his antenna mounted. It's on the passenger's side.

Another issue with the bumper-mount is that the radiated RF is now going into the cab, too. This isn't an issue with a roof-mounted antenna. I'm not sure I want to be that close to an antenna radiating a 50-watt signal. I don't operate everyday, so my exposure is probably not significant.

Yep, I have said UHF mount on my ARB bar. Really should have gone NMO, but fitment and time were an issue...at the time.

I'm not bothered by the single antenna in my view. I am bothered a little by the RF. RF Engineers laugh at me when I express that concern, but a lot of medical doctors used to smoke too.

It's performance for me is better-than-expected but average total. I get far better performance using the same equipment on my other car with a trunk-lip mount.
