MV-50 compressors on sale at Amazon

Thanks! For that price, hard not to give it a shot. Just bought one at Amazon.

Appreciate the heads up.

I have that compressor and can say that it works well. My only complaint is that I tend to pop the in-line fuse frequently. Not sure if that is an operator error issue though.

On board air here i come!!!!!!!

Hmm, are two MV-50's twice as good as one ARB at less than half the price? Plus you'd have a back up?!

As hot as either of mine get I wonder if you have a heat dissipation issue?

Probably, and I'm not sure how to solve the problem except let it cool down while airing up 8 tires. So far all I do is gripe a bit for not taking my time and replace the fuse.

TIP: I suggest cutting off the quick disconnect for the airline and going straight into the pump with a barb. They start to leak after awhile and you lose a lot of air to poor fitment. Plus you can still pack it away just as before!

I'm kinda hopeful that if i run two of them they don't have to work as hard filling a 5 gal tank.....Am i nutz or will they really work less?

I'd advise you all to take off the end of the compressor that houses the power wiring and switch, and at least check, if not re-splice, the connectors inside. The stock splice connectors are cheap and I've seen two units short inside. After I re-spliced mine, I've had no related issues.

I did, however, have an outlet reed valve get obliterated by the piston once when I pulled the filler hose off the tire without shutting of the compressor. I made a new one from a feeler gauge and its been working fantastic since.

They'll work for half the time for the same volume of air, thus avoiding the overheating problems most people seem to have. If I'm not mistaken, the CFM output is similar to the Viair and ARBs, and a pair of them with a 5 gal tank should be able to fill your tires in a hurry.
