Has anybody else had issues with a Currie HD steering set up? All of my adjustable and non-adjustable ends were trashed in about a year. Which led to my driver side knuckle being bored out, the front track bar bushings and heim joint going bad, and my tires wearing out extra fast.

A need for a new tie rod, drag link, and 3 adjustable ends from Currie is in order, along with a RE bushing and heim rebuild kit for the front track bar and a new HD track bar mount for the rear axle.

Oh and i've done some work on the jeep while it's been sitting around waiting for parts. Here are the pics:

Here is what's hiding in my glove box now(didn't mind giving it up considering everything get's dusty just sitting in the glovebox). This thing is going to be very useful i can tell...

Yes, the blender works: :wings:

I used a clear plastic lidded container for a replacement glovebox, it just sits comfortably between my seat and the e-brake:

Ah and of course, one of what i call my "boredom mods", the watering hole:

Center of gravity issue?? just FMI(ForMyInfo)... if you keep heavy stuff (cans, etc) above the lighter mattress...

a bit of an issue during the "flexy" times?

jus' my .02C :) :) :)

I couldn't agree more. That is why i built a new jerry can rack. :coffeedrink:

Also picked up this baby. teaser pic. I'll eventually start it's own thread in the trailer section.

It's an m116a2 from Gov liquidation. 400 bones.

There have also been a few updates to the JK.

It isn't being used as much for expo as it is for crawling. Although when the trailer is finished, just about anything with a hitch can be considered an expo vehicle.

Ever since this:

A new Bestop trektop has been added. New rock krawler 3.5 long arm suspension. HD flipped drag link and steering box brace. I put on the HD poly tie rod a while ago. Steering stabilizer, 37" red label krawlers, 17" allied beadlocks and limit straps. Phew!

And last but not least, This is on it's way for the TJ:

It should keep the bed in the back of the TJ weatherproof and will also give me an extra bit of covered room.

So i mounted the jerry can on the passenger side of the rack. What should i put on the drivers side? Another gas/water can? an air compressor? power tank? Something new and creative?

I like the thought of something new and creative.

Get a toilet seat munted to a bracket that can be removed (like a trailer hitch only smaller) and that would be a great addition to any jeep! You could even mount a little bar out of the tail light to hold the TP! :D

By the way, Does your Two Piece Soft Door set have a lock on them? It looks like a keyed lock in the middle of the handle there....

ah haha that would be good. a toilet, a shower of some sort?? hmmm... the ideas are flowin.

And yeah it's got a lock on there. Not that it would actually stop somebody who really wanted to get in but hey, it's the thought that counts.

Put my new to me rear wheels/ tires on. They actually came off the JK and we're adapted to my TJ thanks to spidertrax.

Also mounted my hi-lift up on the rear rack. Some ext. shots:

seems like it'll be a lot of weight up high and in the rear...don't want you tipping over backwards if you go up a steep incline!

With the exception of the jack (which isn't permanent), i like to keep lightweight items up there.
Typically i throw a few dufflebags full of sleeping bags, air-mattresses, and pillows up there.

When i'm not camping the gas can comes out, along with the bed/kitchen, and the racks are empty. (crawler mode = light weight.)

Will also be adding a suck down winch behind the front grill to act as a counterweight to steep inclines. Hopefully it will offset the slope enough to keep me from going backwards.

Does anyone use an inclinometer?

might help..

also, what sort of effect does a relatively light tongue weight have on that sort of thing? the m116a2 i picked up is pretty well balanced. I can't imagine tongue weight is more than 100-150# fully loaded. (i could be way off.)
