My Jeep Liberty

I have had some requests for more pictures of my Liberty so thought I would just start a new thread. Bought it new in September 2004 thinking that if I bought a Liberty I would not be tempted to mod it!
Well that went wrong somewhere
Nows its sitting with about a 4.25 inch lift,( OME 927 springs in the front 948s in the rear) Rancho shocks plus some other little items for some extra lift, 265-75-16 Goodyear Dura Tracs on Rubicon Moab wheels, ARB front bumper, Rock Lizard roof rack and sliders that are custom length. GTP hood louvers, full skids with a Kilby gas tank skid. Whole bunch of other things added as well, plus a garage full of extra front and rear diffs etc.
Have went from the stock 235-70-16s to 245-70s 255-70s 265-70s and now the 265-75s
Some of the earlier ones up through the various mods

Will bore the heck out of you even more!
cut the bottom of the rear bumper off to visually give it more of a lifted look, after first cut and before smoothing it down

installed new
rear OME springs after 99000 miles on the first set, along with new hockey pucks for bumpstops

Nice rig. Love the decal on the side, very cool!!!

Starting to see more built up KJ's which is a good thing.

WOW, KJs have come a long way since I first had one. Back in the day, we could barley get 1.5" lifts under ours before we'd start tearing CV boots and stuff.

This was mine during a trip to Moab. I traded it in for an LJ when those first hit the market.

Yours was a good looking rig for sure! A few tricks have been learned over the years I guess. I've torn mine down several times trying new things for that extra 1/2 or so or taking it up to the max before the CVs start to complain.
Mines my DD and has over 132,000 miles on it with almost no problems just normal wear and tear items

( knocking on wood) :)

Blain,
Have several friends who have been to Jeep Skool. Haven't been there yet though.
Mail Pouch Barn is down in Monroe County on SR 78, about 40 miles northeast of Marietta.
I grew up close to there.

Just here...
This thing is great looking. Ive been eying a CRD Liberty as a DD/ long distance camping rig for two or three people at a time. You mentioned that you had extra diffs laying around. Weak front end? I had a Cherokee with a ton of mods but the diesel is appealing to me. Which rear end is stock and which transfer case is in the Liberty? How strong are the front end components? Hope you dont mind the questions? Your Liberty has gotten me thinking.

Mine has the "Command Trac " transfer case, has worked great
Front diffs are the weaker link, some have a problem with them, have had to swap out a couple in others who broke them. What happens is if you get to spinning hard or bouncing one tire will catch and then boom. But its not the huge problem some make it out to be. I have wheeled mine a lot and no problems. I grab extras when I can and resell, have one with 4.10s ready to go in soon.
Libertys are a great ride for a DD and even off road, we just had 18 or 19 at the Badlands In Attica In this past weekend
