Need a new clutch kit and maybe a flywheel

for my 99 4WD Toyota Tacoma. This is the second clutch I'll had to replace. I've been driving for over 50 years and 75% of that time has been in manual transmission cars as I prefer a manual trans. The first clutch I burned up was my own stupidity because I let it slip while I was trying to pull a heavier car out of the mud instead of using the winch. That was 2006. This time my wife has been driving in traffic and I think has been racing the motor and riding the clutch pedal when shifting. But still I have never had so many clutch failures as I don't push a car hard. I don't see any signs of oil leaks from the engine's rear bearing. I'm at a loss.

I'm thinking of getting a heavier duty clutch kit and perhaps a new flywheel. The last job was done a Toyota. I think I'll take the time to do this one myself. I'd like a good tough off road type clutch kit that doesn't require my modifying existing components. I'm a bit wary of the all out racing stuff. Any recomendations? Cost is a factor. Thanks

Thanks, I should add I have an unmodified 2.7L 4cyl 4WD wlth stock oversize tires. The engine has 90,000 miles on it. I'm not an off roader just a bird hunter that about three or four month of the year I'm off road. I have to use my winch about once or twice every 2 to 3 years. So I'm not pushing the truck. I'm thinking I shouldn't exceed 1400 psi pressure on the clutch, and I would like a unit that can handle the heat. Thanks.

Dang, I have basically the same truck on the original clutch, 135,000 miles. But, I hardly ever let my wife drive it:Wow1:

I'm sure I'll need a new one soon so I'll be watching to see what you settle on, pooch. I will also be doing the work myself so let us know how it goes..
