Need input on a GTRV

I've been looking for a while at different vans and even missed out on a few. I am looking at a 2001 GTRV on a E250 chasse. The good, the van is in exceptional condition inside and out, it only has 41,500 on the odometer and runs strong. The bad, it only has the 5.4 and is 2wd (for now), the furnace has been completely disconnected so there is no way to test it. Every thing elso on the van appears to be in good working order and has been well maintained. My question is this, after looking for a estimated value on NADA then speaking with Mike at GTRV I can't seem to find anything showing an estimated value. They are asking $14,500 and I feel like that is a good value from what research I've done but lack the experiance to know for sure. Any input on this van and it's value is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Go for it. They did a Sprinter conversion for a friend and it was well done.

I am not sure about the price but I feel like they are typically cheaper than Sportsmobile, but have a very equivalent package.

Which top does it have, and is it the one you would want?

I've never seen one in person, but from what I've seen in photos and the interwebs I've always been impressed with their build quality.

Unless you're towing a lot or planned on running 37" tires the 5.4 should treat you just fine.

It is the Westy or V-top. I'm not to picky about the style of top as long as it can sleep the kids. This vehical will be for our family of 5 who travels/camps alot and would perfer not to fly or rent rooms every night. I don't plan to pull anything at the moment so I don't see weight being a problem.

I'm not sure what other amenities it has and more importantly whether or not they meet your needs, but in general I'd say it sounds like a pretty reasonable deal. Not like you'd find a similar year Eurovan Westy for the same price... plus it wouldn't sleep 5 either!

What layout does it have? Will you actually be able to sleep 5? Might be a bit tight, but you always have the option to throw the older kids out in a tent.

We love the van format for camping - it is pretty much our camping gear storage unit so all we need to do is throw in some food and change of clothes and hit the road.

The van is equipt with all the amenities our family requires. Heat, air, microwave, stove, sink, and porta potti. Our kids are still small so we should be able to get many years of use out of it. We have an 8, 2 1/2, and a 1 year old. Currently we travel in my JKU so this should make life much more enjoyable. We live in North Louisiana and have family in SoCal, OR, PA, and FL so we're hoping to get many miles of use out of this thing.

Thanks for the input

For those of you who don't know what a GTRV is:

Don't fear the 5.4L. It will do just fine even if you decide at some point to tow with it. Mine pulls a 6500# travel trailer without issue (GCWR of 14,000#. ) but that is about the limit.
