Need Suggestions: 3-4 Person tent

My roomate pretty much destroyed my test last weekend and he's going to buy me a new one now. I'm looking for something moderately sized that can fit 3-4 people and isn't rediculously expensive. The kelty grand mesa looks like it's in my price range (around $125) and is along the lines of what I want. I'd just like to get some input as to other tents that may fit in this same category. I would highly recommend the Eureka Sunrise series.

They come in three different sizes-- I have a 15 year old Sunrise 11 (the biggest) and it has been an amazing tent.

The Sunrise 11 is HUGE! 7' interior height and 11'x11' floor. Yet my wife and I can easily set it up in about 15 minutes. The worst challenge is setup in extreme wind, but so far we've never failed to set it up.

Once up, it never leaks even in the worst rains and has never been blown over, even in strong winds (and believe me I've been in strong rain and wind with this thing!). It seems to resist wind by bending-- when a gust hits it, it just bends over a bit, and then snaps back up. It appears the wind just can't get a good grip on it, so it doesn't blow over (stake it down good, however, so it doesn't fly away!).

OK, so if it's so water and wind proof, must be a virtual broiler, right?

Nope! The fly creates four huge awnings, one over each of the huge windows on each side. It's not even like a fly-- more like a roof! So the windows are like really windows when the are open; breezes actually flow through and you don't have to close them when it rains (unless it's windy enough for horizontal rain). Couple that with the completely meshed top and there is never any heat/condensation trapped in this tent.

It's no lightweight, but it is made of tough material that has withstood the abuse of my family of five for the last 15 years.

To me, the Sunrise is a great tent and I'll definitely purchase another if my old green one ever wears out!

Good luck searching for yours!

I think it would be helpful to know exactly what you require from the tent. High wind, four season use, ability to stand up in it etc.

Three season. No need for standing room. No real high winds or rains to speak of though obviously I'd want some decent protection from each. Most of my camping will be in the southeast so it gets pretty hot in the summers and down to the low 20's in the winter. Snow isn't really an issue either as when we do get it, its not too heavy

Here is the one I have. It is surprisingly stable in high winds, You can stand up in it and the tub is completely water proof to at least 3" deep (guess how I know:) ). Doesn't leak...You need to seam seal and treat any new tent anyway. It might be more than you are looking to spend but it is well made and will last a long time.
I have only had it for 5 years but I have been extremely pleased with mine. I probably put it up about 10 times a year.
