Modernity in what way?

One of the reasons I hope to buy from Alaskan in the near future, and indeed can't buy from anyone else that I've found, is their traditional construction means it can be tailored to what I want fairly easily, and they are happy to do it within reason.

Another supplier may use newer methods with lighter materials, but what comes out of their mould is what I'd have to buy and I have yet to find an alternative to an Alaskan that fits as well. A few extra pounds doesn't really matter to me anyhow
