I'm lucky to live near enough to the Corbin seat factory to take advantage of their ride in service.

My friend Tim rode in this morning from Sacramento to ride out there with me. Tim put over 400 miles on the clock today. I think he is addicted to riding his KLR

The Corbin Factory is really cool and there were some nice bikes in the show room. There were also a lot of strange scuff marks on the floor.

They have a nice Diner there as part of the factory where you can eat or just hang out while they work on your seat. I also got to meet Mike Corbin who came into the Diner and introduced himself. The Ride In Service is outstanding.

We rolled in around 9:30am just in time to get the last open spot.

They made me two different seats to try out. The Flat seat was too tall for me so I went with the Dual Platform Low seat. With the new seat I felt like I could ride all day. Other parts of my body were wearing out while my rear end was totally unfazed. I replaced my Corbin Dished seat that was not really working for me.

After my seat was done we rode out to the coast and made a big loop out of it. I was also testing out my new Spot Messenger. Today was a total success.

Here is a screen shot from the Garmin. I put I think I put over 200 miles in today.

+1 on Corbin seats. I never thought I would like one, thinking they were heavy and hard. But I got a used one as a killer deal since it was custom made / color matched for my BMW R1100S BoxerCup Replica. WOW what a outstanding seat and a world of difference in comfort. Quality of build / material is great, and the width / seat angle is perfect.

mog,
Your BoxerCup Replica is freaking awesome! I love that color scheme.

Here are a few pics of my new Corbin on the bike.

Corbins are OK but they are really heavy, and hard as a rock, I prefer Sarget.

I knew I messed up! I should have gotten the Sargent. Darn it! :bike_rider:

Here is a good shot of the seat from above.

Nice lookin KLR, what's the doohickey, (no inside joke intended) that's sitting on top of your Pelican case in the pic? A lock?

I think you are asking about my GoPro camera. It's mounted next to the handle. I have a tiny saftey cable wrapped around the handle just in case it pops off.

The cases are Seahorse not Pelicans and the latches have twist lock latches.

I bought a Corbin for my Honda ST1300, and rode to the factory to have it fixed, still bad. I bought a Bill Mayer, POS, got a cheaper Sargent, now all day no problems.

I've got a Corbin on my DRZ that came with it- worlds better than the 2x4 stock seat which also came with it. I really like the looks of that KLR seat though, it looks like it'd give you more tail support on those longer rides.

My V-Strom wears a a Sargent that I've been very happy with. The stock saddle used to be the limiting factor on riding distance but not any longer.
