so not really an expedition/adventure bike - just something to ride around neighborhood and take with me camping sometimes.

i sold my trek like a year ago as it had been neglected for quite some time as i hadn't ridden in years... then suddenly the 5yo goes and ditches his training wheels the other week so i needed a new bike!

anyway, it's not a top-of-the-line, but in some ways it's nicer than my trek, other components aren't quite as nice - anyway, after a few short rides i'm really with it and happy to be getting off my fat tukis again for some much needed exercise!

here it is still brand new but with all the dern stickers and reflectors and such removed:

only bummed that the main tube's graphics are painted on - not sure if i'm going to attempt removal of them yet.

Automotive ADHD is fun!
that is a very pretty bike... Enjoy!

EDIT - the price seems very reasonable for what you get... REI has it at their outlet right now.

I've got one those-- a 2005 in gray/silver. It's my main trail bike. I really like it--the downhill frame geometry's fun for romping and I like the Hayes mechanical discs. I'm still on the original brake pads--you can just keep adjusting the calipers to keep them centered on the disc. I love the gearing too--great for pulling trailers and the snow plow.

What kind of shocks are on them these days? I have the Suntour SR's. The travel is decent but the stiction is a little high.

Have fun!
