New Ford Ranger Frame Dimensions - Worldwide or no?

Hello,

as far as i recall the Ford Ranger until 2023 had a frame that was identical in rail size&strenght to the far bigger Ford F-150, which i quite lied since this seems pretty overbuilt for a vehicle of that size. Now unfortunatly as far as i understoff we in Europe got a different, far weaker chassis, which to be honest sucked hard. I looked unter the belly of some of those older Rangers and there frames looked indeed more like the normal EU-Pickup frames like the Hilux/Navara etc.

Now did that change with the 2024 version? Or maybe at least for the Raptor Variant of 2024 since that will get abused more often? Or is it now the other way around and they are worldwide the same but weaker then before?

Kind regards,

Marcus

Ranger frame has nothing in common with the F-150. Material type and thickness maybe but design wise they are totally different.

Of course the overall measurements have to be different, but acording to the spec sheets they where identical in fram reil height, width and thickness (and PSI rating), but apparently only for the US-Model. I hope this has changed.

It seems many other things break before frames do. The payload is so small on a midsize that the frame should be the least of worries.

Payload is kind of a mixed message, midsize is on par with a great many fullsize trucks and even the older Ranger's going back to '83.

You can get heavier payload F-150's but they do make the frame heavier/stronger too.

That is my point, in the pdfs it was the same strenght, but apparently only for the US-Ranger for some reason, mabye because it was produced alongside the F-150

You can see here on page 25 for the ranger and page 40 for the F-150, the dimensions are the same, only the thickness of the F150 beeing stronger in the HD version and the PSI rating a bit lower.

I fused the two sheets together por easier comparision:

It was never produced alongside the F150- they may share the same boxed tube tube dimension but it’s not the same bends, etc. you can crawl under a truck and measure the width height of a euro truck to do a quick comparison
