New Head Unit for 08 Xterra

Hello All,

Being a biologist, I know almost nothing useful in real life (which is why I read your postings). Included in my lack of practical knowledge are car stereos. I have an 08 Xterra that included the technology package. The stereo sounds great, but I'd like a few more features built in and was thinking of replacing it. I went stereo shopping and the guy at the stereo store said my bluetooth and XM receiver (that came with the stock stereo) would not work with an aftermarket unit. Is this correct? If not, does anyone have suggestions for an aftermarket unit that would give equal or better performance than the Rockford Fosgate and that included Nav, DVD, and Ipod control for under $700?

I have a Alpine head unit they're not cheap but mine has out lived my 1993 Pathfinder. To tell you what kind of abuse these things can take my 93 saw about as much air time a the General Lee on Dukes of Hazard. And I can only remember it skipping once. And they have too many features to list. I now have that same head unit that was in my 93 in my 2000 Pathfinder. They are tough. Just look them up google "Alpine-usa" and look around.
