Bought a mid-60's Alaskan 8ft NCO a month ago and been diligently working on it.

Overall in fantastic condition will everything original. Bought it in bone stock condition from a local RV dealer (who bought it from the original owner).

Before I bought it, someone stole the hydro-flame furnace external vent cover. There's just an open hole there now and I have no idea what the vent assembly looks like. I can't find one used on eBay and could not even find a good picture of it on google images. I have great fab skills and can make one if I know what it looks like.

1. Does anyone have a few pics of various angles of this vent? Or better yet, anyone know where I can buy one at a reasonable price?

2. Does anyone have a resource for a rebuild kit for the hydraulic pump? I have one with an internal reservoir (oil goes in top of pump). Pump leaks a lot and a new one costs $600. Ouch.

Any help would be genuinely appreciated.

Thanks Men!

As I recall - the vent cover is thin sheet metal prone to bending. Just a thin sheet perforated with louvers inclined to discourage rain. Weak turn screw at the bottom to keep it in place & tabs at the top as a partial hinge but removable. Very basic but the edges are rolled to give it some rigidity. It has to be flush so the top can slide past. Fabing the louvers cleanly seems a bit difficult but maybe put standard house basement side wall vent louvers in a frame?

I'd look for a hydraulics repair business as the pump rebuild is just o-rings (I think...)Moe

If it's a manual pump, it's just one oring on the piston. Mine was leaking and I replaced it with one from a farm supply place, took ten minutes.

You should also feel free to just call Alaskan and talk to Brian. He's very knowledgable, friendly and willing to give advice on the maintenance and repairs of the older campers. He might even have some pics of that vent to send you.360-748-6494
