"New" RTIC Coolers

I have been using my old for a while now. I know RTIC changed their style due to Yeti... has anyone bought a new cooler from RTIC yet, if so what do you think about it compared to the old style?

the new ones aren't available quite yet, they're liquidating the old yeti like stock right now

New ones wont be out for a while i dont think.

But it sounds like the cooler should perform the same. They changed the lid opening handle area, added a second "bigger" drain plug, and changed something about the latches that I havent been able to figure out from pictures.

they should be available really soon actually, in the last 3 days they sold out of all of the old style as clearance

hopefully they changed the exterior of the drain plug too to make it a little easier to get a good grip on

FYI... Their website's updates section has the following news.

Our bottles will allow you to have great filtered water when you want it utilizing the all new RTIC integrated filtration system giving you healthier, great-tasting water. All our filters and containers will be BPA-free and remove contaminants and unpleasant odors.

I have a Yeti 75 and my buddy has a rtic 65. Very few differences. Excited to see that they can't blatantly copy people any more.

FYI - new coolers are now available on their site. I just ordered a soft 30 and it looks like mostly styling changes. Will report back when it arrives.

Not much change in looks, think its safe to say the law suit settlement wasnt a death knell for RTIC nor an overwhelming victory for Yeti.

It's definitely at most a styling change. YETI doesn't actually have a patent on any "Technology" like they claim to... it's a COOLER! The only reason RTIC was sued was because of how closely they LOOKED like Yeti's. Change the drain plug and a couple small design cues, done deal.

I can't believe that Yeti had the audacity to sue them over it in the first place. You make a cooler... that's not new technology. Sorry you built your business around an astronomical price tag and a cult following of suckers... it was only a matter of time before someone else undercut you with an equal if not identical product at a much lower cost.
