New (to me) 4 runner & some questions

Hey guys,

Yesterday I bought an '07 SR5 4wd 4 runner and had a question or two.

1. When engaging 4-lo the car makes a beeping noise, i've never used electronic 4wd. Is this normal,or am I doing something wrong?

2. What size tire will fit when the truck is a stock height and what size tire will fit if you have the 3" OME lift?

3. If you have the normal (No HD) 3" OME lift, are there any alignment issues or any other associated issues?

Thanks,

Brendan

So you finally got a new 'car', cool that you purchased a 4Runner :) an SR5 too! Does it have the 16-inch wheels (better tire choices)?

Answers:

1) Read the Owners Manual. The beeping is because low-range is not engaging/shifting as you have requested. It's a warning. Is the trans in neutral?

2) 265/75R16 will fit without a lift (31.5 - 32-in. tall by 10.5)

I have not completed/continued my build thread because I'm holding material for articles, but there may be a few helpful things in the thread. After my experiences both with and without a bumper on the front of my car (and the right springs for the weight) I would be surprised if the 4Runners drive as well without some type of alignment adjustment/correction after a lift.

Redline covered everything. Make sure transmission is in neutral when putting it in 4lo, 265/75/16's is the biggest you can fit without a lift or trim, and definitely get an alignment after your lift.

I have been shopping for tires, and I will be going with Nitto Terra Grapplers (265/75/16). ~$150/tire @ Discount Tire (includes m&b and tax). I've had Bridgestone REVO's in the past, and they were great tires, too.

Thanks guys,

I didn't have the car in neutral, so problem solved.

I just got done putting in the stereo system and the radar detector, hopefully I can post some pics soon. The tire's (265/75R16) will come next.

Thanks,

Brendan
