So what are the laws regarding these type of firearms up in Canada? I've seen a few Canadian firearm youtubers who have similar semi-auto rifles, which I thought were prohibited or at the very least highly restricted. Are there caliber restrictions? Magazine limits?

If it was a AR 15 based platform it would fall into the list of Restricted ( to the range and back no plinking on your own land). This is a 22 that looks Kinda like the SCAR ( Insert heavy breathing here :bowdown
and This is non restricted here. Now theres another issue that the RCMP :26_7_2: have decided that since the ruger 10/22 magazine fits into a model they made that about 400 were brought into Canada they will make all magazines for this firearm over 10 rds prohibited.
3 classes of firearms here in CA. nonrestricted 22s bolt actions sks's M305s and many others are considered here not able to be made automatic under 5 rds in the mag unless its a rimfire. Unless its a carbine like the keltec sub 2k and uses a pistol cartridge and only has a 10 rd capacity and a barrel length over 16.5 inches
restricted pistols AR based builds and a whole slew of others that the RCMP deem are semi offensive but not truly scary in black
and finally prohibited under 4.25 inches certain Lugers automatics and anything the RCMP deem Black and scary. they allowed the CZ 858s as non restricted but they deemed the same model with engraving ( MOLON LABE ___ COME AND TAKE THEM)on them as prohib... go figure:Wow1: same with the magazines for the 10 22 and a few other makers 22s holding over 10 rds unless they are pinned to 10 rd max capacity. As theres not Pistol or short barreled variant of it is good to go with a mega capacity mag. i like that when im out plinking. :wings:

I don't know if you can ge them up there but for a really fun .22 look into the Umarex HK MP5 .22s- not the cheaply made GSG guns. They are made by Walther and licensed by HK and they look and feel very close to the real thing albeit in .22LR. They come in an A5 and a SD version and both are surprisingly accurate, easily minute of squirrel. Put an inexpensive red dot on it, grab a handful of mags and a .22 "tactical" pistol and it's tons of fun to do a rimfire run and gun.
I've got one of the 1st gen Sub2000s and like every KelTec I've ever handled it seemed to be about 95% finished from the factory, needing the flashing cleaned up, some fitting of the handguards, some polishing (fluff & buff), etc. It's been 100% with everything I've tried in it including some crappy corrosive South American 9mm and the cheap Korean magazines but I just can't get over how cheap it feels and wouldn't want to reply on it; guss I'm a snob. LOL The Tacticol buffer, tube cover and cocking lever cover make it a little more user friendly. http://www.tacticoolproducts.com/sub-2000/ I've done some other mods to mine includnig adding the KT extra magazine hlder for the Gen 1 and a section of Magpul rail to theside of the handguard so that I could add a flashlight; the add-on factory rail section under the foregrip pretty much sucked.

yea i think i have all the .22 s that i need now. i have 2 pistils that can shoot it and theres 5 .22 cal rifles in the lock ups . i hae been thinking of the non restricted Keltec SU16 Tactical model. because i want a .223 thats semi auto and not on the goverment list for to the range and back. which is all an AR can do. If i won a have baillion dollars I would buy a Robinson arms XCR M in .308 and get the 5.56 upper to go with it . But as I dont buy lotto tix i guess I will be happy to have what i do .
