I just shelled out for some 285/75/16 Yokohama Geolandar it go72 studless snow tires that I will pick up in Grand Junction before or after a quick desert bike trip before returning to the frozen land that just arrived. I'm very excited about a full size snow tire with 19/32 tread depth. That's the depth of a BFG MT tread block!
Discount Tire is offering a 15% up charge for tire replacement insurance for on/off road damage including any sidewall damage. That's $100 extra for some Moab testing/abuse insurance? I think I may have just talk myself into it.
The tires are $168 each and tack on $25 for insurance and this may be a great winter/quick Moab/desert trip tire. Maybe I'll take more than 1 spare?
They do make a 315/75/16 and I really like the 285/75 clearance for my Tundra.

I'm sure a 255/85 would be a great size in this too, but it's not made.

I will do my best to give complete observations and long term results of these tires since there really is not a lot of info on them.
I'm hoping for the best.

Well, I must say that this Yokohama is in a league of its own.
The 33" soft compounded tires are really well siped and some of the best snow tires I've ever driven. I'm comparing them to Cooper M+S studded and many others. I'm coming off a BFG AT that has been driven in these same conditions last week.

I have always been obsessed with traction, compounds, and tread designs on mountain bikes where you can really feel the difference and make the turn or blow it. From being a bike mechanic for way too long, I now look at every set up and know how it will ride. Now I find myself doing it with trucks...

In the last week I have driven a number of steeper forest service roads around the Aspen area to snowmobile as well as just getting a feel for the new rubber.

At this point in the season there is still plenty of dry pavement as well as mud getting to the snow covered goodness. The general behavior of heavily siped tires is sloppy on dry pavement and I have not felt that way about this tread. Very quiet and smooth they are clearing mud better than the BFG AT's
I really think that this Yokohama is a very impressive tire to make it to the U.S. market and will soon become the winter exploring tire of choice for many who are looking for a 33-35" tire

I'll try to post some proper pics later as to not bore anyone with a cell phone pic

Ive been looking at these lately for my jeep the 200 a piece price tag isnt to bad for a 35 inch tire...
Ill most likely get these in the next month or two especially like the 40 dollar mail in rebate..
Any updates on these? Pics?
sorry i googled them and this poped up i didnt look to see how old it was..

I've been running these for 2 winters on our 01 Tacoma pre runner.

They're great. They don't freeze hard in our worst winter weather (-40) and grip like mad.
